This remodel transformed the cramped, compartmentalized first floor of a historic carriage house into an open, connected living space tailored to the needs of a growing family. Swapping the original kitchen and dining footprints allowed for a more functional layout, and in the process, gave the kitchen room to shine as the true heart of the home. Anchored by a 14-foot bifold window and pass-through bar that opens to the garden, the space is layered with leathered quartzite countertops, vintage art, and collected flea market finds - each detail chosen to honor the home’s past while supporting the rhythms of modern-day life.
